Headhunting Tsar to TV Star

01 Headhunting Tsar to TV Star

After much anticipation we were over the moon to see Philippa D’Arcy, formidable City headhunter and now owner of the recently launched ultra luxurious events venue Wickham House, grace our television screens as the star of Channel 4’s new hit TV documentary series The Job Interview.

Working hand in hand with the show’s Director and Producer SBPR identified suitable businesses for the show and then successfully pitched in our client Wickham House, namely Philippa, who was selected to appear in the show’s inaugural episode. We knew she would be TV dynamite and the executives at Channel 4 couldn’t have agreed more. Assisted by her daughter Bertie, the slick duo set out to find a new employee for the flourishing wedding and events business at the Grade II Listed Georgian manor house, an exclusive use venue set on the outskirts of Newbury in Berkshire.

The agency used the show’s profile to secure a number of high-impact media opportunities for Philippa and subsequently Wickham House, with two features on the world’s biggest online news platform Mail Online as well as coverage on the Huffington Post website, The Times Online, The Guardian, Daily Mirror, Standard.co.uk, Absolutely Weddings and a double page spread in the Daily Mail print edition.

The result? Exposure to millions of people and website traffic up 11,000% in the 24-hours immediately following the show and remaining at 500% up seven days later, leading to the Wickham House website crashing. Oops!
